I have worked closely with the RWS symbolism, but I also expand that symbolism and insert my own vision into the deck. While some cards may feel familiar, other cards may feel new. The push and pull of old meets new is what inspires my collage work at its root. I love starting from a traditional and historical place, but I especially love taking those original pieces or ideas and inserting them into a modern, artistic creation.
This project took over 3 years of thinking, tinkering, and creating. My fingers are clicking and moving and swapping endless pieces of imagery. My eyes are scrolling over endless pieces of imagery trying to find what pops out at me to select and try over and over again. My heart pouring into every piece laid into compositions. Endless time researching and referencing each RWS card and corresponding symbolism. Endless time searching for new image sources. The hours I have devoted to this deck is endless.

Unlike a traditional LWB, the "guidebook" for this deck is more of an artist supplement. The guidebook features my perspective and journey throughout each card from my creation perspective and process. There is some standard information, like keywords and symbolism, but the meaning and messages behind each card will be weaved into a journal-like approach of sorts from my time creating each card. There's a bit of everything and surely something to takeaway from the card entries.
